– Cherry Point’s 2006 Coastal Red won silver, this juicy fruit forward red is easy to drink and very food friendly. The 2004 Forté Brut and the 2006 Siegerrebe received bronze medals. The 2004 Forté Brut is a sparkling wine that is made in the traditional method; it has a slightly pink hue due to the fact that it is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes. With an off-dry finish this sparkling wine is a tasty aperitif before dinner. The 2006 Siegerrebe is a wonderful sipping wine; with floral aromas and mouthwatering flavours of ripe peach and tangerine it’s perfect for a hot summer day. The prestigious Northwest Wine Summit is one of the first major wine competition events of the year, and attracts the largest number of participants in the Pacific Northwest. The only restrictions on entries are that the wines must come from Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington and they must be or have been commercially available within two years.
